I have long been thinking of writing a blog and then thought again. But then I would overhear odd comments, read something in the paper, something someone said on the radio would resonate and I would keep on thinking about it, what it meant to me and what it might mean to others.
But for now it is 2013 a new year, new resolutions. Big dreams, small dreams, secret dreams that we hardly dare to admit to ourselves. But those dreams are terrific, keep them close by if you need to, but don’t bury them. They are important – to you and the world.
Remember last year at those all-inspiring Olympic Games how many people said ‘I watched the Olympics in Australia and I said I would run in the Olympics one day’. ‘I saw myself on the diving board.’ ‘If I can do it, anyone can do it.’ How many people would have laughed at that dream from a child. But they did it. They followed their dream.
That was their dream, they dreamed big. So can you. If you can see where you want to go, then there is every chance you will get there.
Are you going to think big, start something new, build on last year. The new year is a time of new beginnings, new thoughts, new goals. Anything is possible which can be daunting, a little bit scary. Change is always unsettling, fearful, insecure. However, if you don’t do something different, nothing changes, things stay the same. And that could be absolutely fine for you, right now. But others want to take a chance, have a change, realise that dream.
Think of how you would like your year to be? Your 2013 will be like what? And what is the first thing that needs to happen to start your year off on the right foot.
I’ll post another post on beginning to look at the world in a different way soon.
Happy new year.
